There are innumerable GitHub accounts but how does one make theirs extraordinary? This article provides the full list of cool GitHub features and tweaks to make your profile look amazing.

1. Profile README:

You can share important stuff about yourself on your profile readme. It will appear at the top of your profile.

A profile README is a special type of readme. To create it follow the steps below:

Create a new repository with the same name as your username and make sure all the underlined options are fulfilled (see the image below for reference)

you will see the green box only if the repo name matches your username (this is vital)

You can be as creative with your repository as you want by using Markdown styling, badges, images, etc.

2. About Section:

Use GitHub’s “Edit Profile” option under your profile picture and fill in the spaces to introduce yourself to the community.

3. Unlocking Achievements:

Once you start using GitHub, the organization provides you with certain achievements, once you have met the required criterion for one. You can choose to display these on your profile (they will be displayed by default).
